Busan is the second largest city in South Korea after Seoul, and it's main port.  As we had already been here before, this time we joined up with 5 other cruisers on a private tour, organised by Korean Private Tours.  This proved to be a very good decision.

The ship now docks a few miles outside town (Princess did provide a free shuttle to the centre of the old town).  We were picked up at 7am, and went first to the Jagalchi fish market, the old town and up Busan Tower in Yondusan Park.

Following this, we transferred to the very scenic Yonggungsa Temple and the new town.  After a quick walk around Dongbakseom Island, we had a high quality traditional lunch (all sorts of dishes, including jelly based noodles, various raw fish, sesame seed soup, some sort of fizzy rice drink, and raw pickled stingray!).  After a quick stop at a local (enormous) mall, we then headed back to the ship.

I suspect that with tour we managed to see more of Busan than most people on board!  Due to the early departure time of 4pm, there would not have been time to make full use of the local hop-on hop-off bus and actually see the sights.  A very good day.
