Saturday November 11th

No pictures for this day :-(

A day of travelling.  We got to Heathrow at around 9:30, for the 12:50 British Airways departure to Phoenix, only to be met by long queues.  We had already checked in on-line the night before, however the express baggage drop wasn't particularly express.  After the luggage was eventually dropped off, we then had to queue again for security.  We eventually got through airside just before 11:00.  In retrospect, this was by far the slowest airport check-in of the whole trip.

The flight to Phoenix was ... well, long. It seemed a much longer 11 hours than other flights we have taken of a similar length.  Still, the in-flight entertainment was much better than normal - a choice of 18 channels on the seat back monitors, including Monster House and Pirates of the Caribbean 2.  The food was much better than most other airlines as well.

Arrival at Phoenix was one of the quickest we have ever experienced in America - only a 10 minute queue for immigration (mind you, it was followed by the stiffest grilling Dave has ever had in America - probably due to the Russian, Chinese and Moroccan stamps in his passport right beside the photograph ...)

We picked up a monster of a car and drove to the hotel - a Super 8 near the airport.  Very basic and in an industrial area, but clean, close and it has a big bed in which we are about to crash after a very long day.
