Wednesday 15th November - the Quiet Day

Dave woke up today feeling lousy, probably as a result of a dodgy jambalaya he ate at a restaurant last night.  As a result, we decided to stay put for another day and to go and visit somewhere close at hand - the Boyce Thompson Arboretum, basically a Kew Gardens of the desert.

It was only a 20 mile drive down the road, but it's also a drop in altitude of around 2000 feet, so it was much warmer there than at the motel!  The arboretum consists of large numbers of desert plants from around the world, not just from Arizona.  An interesting morning, after which we went back to the motel and Dave slept the rest of the daylight hours away.
